In industry, structural adhesives are utilized where joint strength, process repeatability, and resistance to operating conditions (vibrations, variable loads, moisture, chemicals) are paramount. Structural bonding performs exceptionally well in machine building, maintenance, automation, the production of housings, guards, and components, as well as in repairs and retrofits when rapid assembly without thermal deformation is required.

The greatest advantage compared to mechanical fasteners is that the adhesive works across the entire contact surface. Thanks to this, you achieve a uniform stress distribution, reduce localized stress concentrations, and improve joint durability. Additionally, the adhesive layer seals the connection, which helps protect it against moisture and reduces the risk of galvanic corrosion when joining dissimilar metals.

Depending on the materials and operating conditions, the appropriate type is selected: epoxy adhesives (maximum strength and resistance), polyurethane adhesives (PUR) (flexibility and vibration dampening), and acrylic / methacrylic adhesives (fast fixture time and excellent bonding of plastics and composites). In many applications, two-component solutions are highly popular, providing high load-bearing capacity and stable performance parameters after curing.
